To make Shine happen each summer we need loads of volunteers, both short term and long term. There is something for everyone – look down this list to find where you can fit in!

Short-term Needs (Mission Builders)
Most of these positions last from 3 to 11 months, although some are shorter. You would cover your own living and accommodations costs.

Permanent Positions
The following positions require a minimum of one year commitment.
Requirements: Must have completed a DTS or Operation Year, the entry level training provided by Youth With A Mission (or agree to undergo training within the first year). Must be older than 21. Must have some relevant work experience. All applicants will however be considered on an individual basis. You will cover your own expenses.
Shine Children and Youth Arts Festival Co-ordinator
+ Co-ordinate Shine involvement with the Edinburgh Children’s Festival
+ Establish relationships with local church youth and children’s groups
+ Plan city-wide activities for youth and children
+ Establish relationships with the council and local community groups
+ Manage a budget
+ Desire to see youth and children’s work established in Edinburgh
Performance Arts Co-ordinator
+ Establish relationships with artists, and manage their websites and marketing
+ Co-ordinate performance events for artists
+ Negotiate recording and distribution deals for artists
+ Harvest paid and unpaid gigs
+ Establish and maintain relationships with venue owners, promoters, and festival coordinators
+ Co-ordinate workshops and interest groups
+ Serve the artists and see them flourish
Shine Visual and Fine Arts Co-ordinator
+ Manage a gallery and community studio
+ Organise workshops, forums, support groups, and other events to promote artists
+ Co-ordinate Shine participation in festivals in the UK and abroad
+ Facilitate recycling art projects
+ Maintain relationship with local council activities
+ Manage a website and a budget
+ Have a passion for visual arts and artists
Shine Literary and Film co-ordinator
+ Establish and maintain relationships with writers, poets and film makers
+ Develop Shine involvement in film festivals locally and abroad
+ Co-ordinate our own productions, films, and collaborative works
+ Establish our own Film Festival
+ Facilitate the multi-media productions for Shine in the festivals
+ Maintain a website and budget
+ Facilitate community forums and support groups for writers and film-makers
+ Organise events for networking and to showcase productions
+ Have a passion for encouraging artistic beauty and moral relevance in film.
Fringe Festival Co-ordinator
+ Co-ordinate a team of volunteers and staff for involvement in the Fringe Festival
+ Set and manage a budget and website
+ Have a heart for promoting the arts in Edinburgh.
Shine Administrator and Fund-Raiser
+ Manage the intricate details of Shine, and manage Shine accounts
+ Maintain, source and establish relationships with funders who award grants
+ Apply for grants and develop fund raising strategy
+ Computer literate
+ Offer creative input into the vision of Shine.
Shine Media Co-ordinator
+ Manage and facilitate an online radio station and online magazine
+ Manage a budget and a team of volunteers (photographers, writers, web developers, reporters, etc.)
+ Maintain relationship with venues, events, festivals, churches, etc.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with our artists
+ Identify new media outlets, and new ways to stay on the cutting edge
+ Identify funding sources.
